Chris – LAMP volunteer to Southend, SK
The cross-cultural ministry and mission of LAMP is only possible because of unsung heroes like Chris. Are you a follower of Christ willing to share His love with Indigenous people where they are at and walk alongside them on their journey? When you offer yourself and your talents – big or small – to God, together, we can make a difference. Perhaps, you’re one of God’s unsung heroes!
The Indigenous people are inviting us to “come more often and stay longer”. Although Vacation Bible School is our key form of ministry, many teams also hold other events while in the community – adult or youth Bible studies, sports programs, community dinners, and such. Teams that return to their community year after year build meaningful relationships, which is why each mission team is asked to make a commitment to serve 5 years in the same community. This commitment is so important to establish trust and more effectively share Christ.
“Each year we come, the community trusts us more, especially when we say we will come back (God-willing). Seeing the joyous faces of the kids welcoming us back each year is reason enough to come back!” – Anke, LAMP Volunteer to Grandmother’s Bay, SK
